The male body requires support to be as healthy and vitalised as possible to undertake essential processes - this is especially relevant when aiming to optimise fertility).

The ingredients in A Little Vitali-tea support the male body, with an emphasis on key markers of male fertility. This blend supports testosterone, reproductive organ health, sperm quality, motility and volume, as well as sexual performance, energy, libido and stress management.

The three key adaptogens in this blend – ashwagandha, shatavari and turmeric – go a further distance to reduce stress and the effect of stress hormones experienced by many organs and systems in the body. These ingredients reduce the symptoms of fatigue, anxiety and depression, and protect the cells in the body from oxidation - very important during difficult times such as trying to conceive.

This tea is best consumed at least once daily to support male fertility.

what's in it?

All Certified Organic Ingredients: Ashwagandha Root, Ginseng Root, Shatavari Root, Fenugreek, Ginkgo biloba, Turmeric Root, Ginger Root, Nettle Leaf

Note: This blend is made primarily from root ingredients, making it very powerful but also a very heavy tea blend. Working on a teaspoon per serving, the servings and volume per bag will be smaller than other blends containing leafy ingredients.

Read more below about how each of the ingredients works to support male fertility (note - this is very different to female fertility and fertility support needs. See A Little Fertili-tea for female fertility support).

Ashwagandha Root

Ashwagandha root has adaptogenic qualities, which put simply reduce stress experienced by the mind and body. Ashwagandha calms the nervous system, and reduces depression, anxiety, fatigue, stress-induced insomnia, exhaustion, and general brain “fog”. Studies have shown effectiveness of Ashwagandha root in increasing sperm count and motility, as well as sperm quality. At the cellular level, Ashwagandha root has been shown to reduce oxidative stress by increasing antioxidant levels and activity in the body, thereby protecting the body from free radical damage.

Ginseng Root

Ginseng has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries due to its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Ginseng is thought to improve brain function, immunity, energy and mood, with recent modern medicine studies demonstrating efficacy in cognitive function, alleviating mental fatigue and strengthening mental health. Ginseng has also been reputed as an aphrodisiac, and is used to treat sexual dysfunction as well as to enhance sexual behaviour in traditional Chinese medical practices.

Shatavari Root

Shatavari root can be used to support male and female fertility. Shatavari has been found to have the ability to rejuvenate reproductive organs, support sexual arousal and performance. Shatavari encourages a healthy stress response, making it worth considering for those with stress-induced fertility health issues, and in males, it has been found to support healthy sperm and increasing sperm count.

Fenugreek

Studies show that consuming fenugreek daily can increase testosterone levels, libido, sexual performance, and strength in men.

Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo biloba has been used far and wide for many applications, including male fertility treatment via improving circulation and sexual organ health, and improving sperm quality. Other applications include anxiety treatment, and enhancing cognitive function, specifically addressing memory problems; one study having shown efficacy in addressing Alzheimer’s dementia. It has also been widely used to treat blood disorders and glaucoma via enhancing healthy cardiovascular function. It contains very high levels of flavonoids and terpenoids, which are both powerful anti-oxidants having a protective effect on the brain and neurons as well as circulation.

Turmeric Root

Studies have shown that curcumin in turmeric is able to positively affect sperm motility. Turmeric is also rich in vitamin C which helps improve the sperm count in the body. A 2014 study found that curcumin has the potential to increase testosterone in the body.

Nettle Leaf

Stinging Nettle contains compounds that may enhance fertility for both men and women. For men, the root of stinging nettle has 3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran, a compound which boosts testosterone levels, resulting in improved sperm quality and increased sexual desire. The leaves are also astringent and high in vitamin C, purifying the system and building immunity, as well as improving the sperm count in the body.

Ginger Root

Studies have shown ginger supports fertility by improving testosterone levels in men, as well as increasing sperm count, motility and volume. Research has also shown that ginger may reduce sperm DNA fragmentation (a cause of male infertility, lower natural conception and IVF outcomes).
