Brahmi (Bacopa)

Research shows that bacopa boosts brain function, via bacosides, active compounds shown to have antioxidant effects in the brain. Specifically, studies have also shown improvements in speed of processing visual information, attention, learning rate, and memory, as well as a reduction in anxiety and improved stress management. Its wealth of anti-oxidants also have links to positive impacts on heart health and circulation, and its anti-inflammatory properties boost immunity (by supressing pro-inflammatory cytokines).

Ginseng

Ginseng has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Ginseng is thought to improve brain function, immunity and energy.

Ashwagandha Root

Ashwagandha root has been found to have an adaptogenic quality. Put simply, adaptogens reduce stress experienced by the mind and body. Ashwagandha has a particular calming effect on the nervous system, reducing depression, anxiety, fatigue, stress-induced insomnia, exhaustion, and general brain “fog”. At the cellular level, Ashwagandha root has been shown to reduce oxidative stress by increasing antioxidant levels and activity in the body, thereby protecting the body from free radical damage.

Sencha Green Tea

Green sencha tea is arguably the healthiest beverage on the planet with an impressive list of bioactive compounds that improve health. Super rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory polyphenols and EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate) which has a protective effect against cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Recent research has shown that habitual drinkers of green tea have reduced all-cause mortality rate. Green tea also contains L-theanine, a bioactive compound that has anti-anxiety and focus properties and catechins which are thought to have antibacterial and antiviral actions. To top it all off green tea has been shown to increase fat burning and physical performance.

Lemon Balm

Lemon balm, traditionally used to support mood and cognitive function, has a soft mildly sweet citrusy flavour profile with a subtle note of mint. Lemon balm infusions have been shown to have stress and anxiety relieving properties as well as providing vital sleep supporting benefits.

Peppermint Leaf

Being free of caffeine, drinking peppermint leaf in a tea is perfect at any time of day, be it before or after a big meal, for appetite control between meals, an afternoon energy boost, or digestion support during our resting and sleep time. The anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties of peppermint tea makes it an all-rounder, from freshening breath and fighting the common cold, to cleansing the digestive tract. The freshness of peppermint leaf is all you need for instant tummy relief and support for uncomfortable digestive issues including bloating, indigestion, cramps and reflux.

how do you have it?

1 teaspoon per serving.

As A Little Focus contains green tea leaves, to avoid releasing the inherent bitterness in the leaves it’s important to add hot or simmering water (70-80 degrees), instead of boiling water. A quick way to do this is to add a touch of cold water to boiling water.

Infuse for up to 10 minutes to release maximum nutrient value from the root. If steeping for longer, rest assured the bitterness of the green tea will be balanced by the peppermint leaf and lemon balm.
